FAQ
When will convex mirrors be back in stock?
Soon! I’m painting as fast as I can. I’ve been totally overwhelmed by your support for the mirrors so to manage it I’m releasing batches every 1-2 weeks. Make sure you are signed up to my newsletter (link in footer) to be the first to know about the next release date.
How much does a sign cost?
How long is a piece of string? That’s not very helpful is it… Pricing takes into account size, complexity of design, techniques such as gilding, glitter, glass etc. My day rate is £350 and if you check out my commissions page you can get an indication of prices.
How much is postage?
Postage varies from £2.95 to £50 depending on the size of the piece and how delicate it is. Gold leaf work needs to be carefully packaged to prevent scratches, which adds to the cost.
Do you ship overseas?
I do! Although you will be responsible for import taxes on receipt and I’m not able to tell you how much they would be. If you don’t see your country listed in shipping options, please get in touch.
What are your lead times?
Convex mirrors, house numbers and wedding/party welcome signs usually take 2-3 weeks. Bespoke designs take 4-6 weeks. If you need something urgently, get in touch and I’ll do my best to accommodate you, but please understand that this is a skilled craft that takes time and patience.
How do I care for gold leaf?
Gold leaf is vulnerable to scratches, so if the sign will be in a high traffic area I recommend clear coating it for protection. Do not spray with anything other than water, no greasy fingers, and don’t rub with anything rough or scratchy. Remove dust gently with a soft cloth.
How do I order wholesale?
Most of my signs are bespoke and painted to order. However, if you have an idea for a wholesale sign, please get in touch and we can have a chat.
Are your signs suitable for outdoor use?
Signwriters enamel and gold leaf are fine for outside, but the substrate varies. House numbers - absolutely! Wooden signs - not really. They’re shower proof, so they’re ideal for outdoor weddings, but aren’t designed to be permanently displayed outside. If your sign is going to be permanently situated outdoors, get in touch and we can talk through the options.
